I have been on a journey towards optimal wellness of the mind, body & spirit for most of my adult life. My story begins in my early 30's when I was inspired to take control of my own health.
You see, I was actively struggling with an autoimmune disorder, restrictive dieting, and low blood sugar, energy and mood. My body had decided to wage war on itself. I saw countless doctors and specialists who each had their own diagnosis and protocols for me to follow, all of which had little success. I felt confused, frustrated & helpless.
I had always had a keen interest in food and cooking, so it was at the time that I decided to take my health into my own hands. I cut out gluten, refined sugar, processed foods, alcohol & coffee. (I know what you are thinking… there is no way I can or will give all that up! And you don’t have to, necessarily - it’s all about BALANCE)
What I learned from my changes was the incredible ability of food to heal the body. I decided to pursue my certification in Holistic Nutrition at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. It was there I learned how to heal with whole foods; foods that are complete and nutrient dense in their natural state.
It was then that I was finally able to make the connection —
What we eat determines how we feel!
And that was just the beginning...
In my 20’s I was first introduced to yoga. It was an instant connection with my soul and has been a love affair ever since. Yoga was just what I needed to center me, help me manage my emotions and develop a healthier relationship with myself and my body. In 2014, I travelled to Koh Samui, Thailand where I studied Vikasa Yoga and earned my 200 hr teacher training certification. I am so blessed to have had the experience to learn in an environment so rich in culture & beauty - it was truly magical and life changing!
I have always had a passion for helping others. In fact, you might not know that prior to my health and wellness journey, I worked as a counsellor for 10 years.
My Holistic Nutrition Certification has provided me with unprecedented, evidence-based professional training. I coach, consult and advise you on how to identify and correct the nutritional causes of your health concerns using personalized wellness and lifestyle programs to optimize your health. My Yoga Teacher Certification has given me an additional set of tools to help you practice better self care and feel strong and healthy in your body. Yoga will help you develop focus, discipline and provides access to the non-physical aspects of yourself.
